Westben Arts Festival Theatre

Campbellford, Ont… Westben – Concerts at The Barn celebrates its 11th season of presenting world-class music in the idyllic countryside setting of Trent Hills in Northumberland County, from June 11th to August 8, 2010. This “Season of Discovery” opens with the world premiere of Artistic Director Brian Finley and collaborator Ken Tizzard’s musical, “The Selfish Giant”. The Festival continues with a wide spectrum of the world's finest music, including opera, Broadway, jazz and world music. Highlights include Mozart's opera "The Magic Flute" featuring the UBC Opera Ensemble with full orchestra, "Bach Unaccompanied Suites for Cello" featuring Brian Manker, principal cellist for the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, an afternoon of Chopin & Schumann music, a new show entitled "Shakespeare's Women", a celebration of favourite female characters from the world of Shakespeare in verse and in song featuring Chick Reid, actor & Donna Bennett, soprano, a solo piano concert featuring Robert Silverman, Saturday Night at the Opera with Host Ian Scott and international star Adrienne Pieczonka, the very popular Barnful of Broadway matinees and “Jazz Out of This World concerts”. The summer season closes on Aug 8 with the Finale Fundraiser featuring special guest Michael Burgess.
